Petition in Allahabad High Court to ascertain the roots of Taj Mahal

Prayagraj (UP) – A petition has been filed in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court seeking an order to open 20 rooms inside the Taj Mahal in Agra. ‘This will reveal the truth about the Taj Mahal and put an end to the ongoing controversy over its history’, it said. Dr Rajneesh Singh has filed this petition through advocate Rudra Vikram Singh.

The petition states,

1. The Court should direct the Central Government to constitute a committee that would examine these rooms and look for any evidence of the Hindu Idols, inscriptions or scriptures hidden on the orders of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

2. Many Hindu organisations claim that the Taj Mahal is an ancient Shiva temple and is known as ‘Tejomahalay’. This is also acknowledged by some historians. Due to this claim, Hindus and Muslims are fighting among themselves. Hence, there is a need to put an end to this argument.

3. Some history books say that the Tejomahalay Temple was built by King Paramardi Dev in the year 1221. The temple was inherited by the then Maharaja Raja Man Singh of Jaipur. Shah Jahan later took control of it and turned it into a monument to his wife.

4. There are 22 rooms at the top and bottom of the 4-storey building of the Taj Mahal, and they are closed. Historian P N Oak and other historians say that there is a Shiva temple in these rooms. This truth must be revealed. While crores of rupees are being spent for the protection of the Taj Mahal, its true history needs to be told to the people.

Editorial viewpoint

Why does such a demand needs to be raised ? Since the Archaeological Department is under the jurisdiction of the Central Government, the Government should take cognisance and issue the order and tell the true history to Hindus !
