Hanuman Chalisa recited over the loudspeaker at the time of Azaan in Varanasi

Editorial comments

  • This should be implemented all over the country, only then wrongdoing will be stopped.
  • Despite the Supreme Court’s order a few years ago, the Government, the Administration and the Police are refraining from taking action against the illegal Azaan on the mosques. Hence, now if Hindus are legitimately opposing this, then how is it wrong ?

Varanasi (UP) – Shrikashi Vishwanath Gyanvapi Mukti Andolan organisation has started reciting Hanuman Chalisa through the loudspeaker. Hanuman Chalisa is being recited as soon as the mosque starts Azaan. Loudspeakers have been installed on the roof of the houses. Sudhir Singh, the President of the movement from the Saket Nagar area of Varanasi, has started this movement on his house. He said that when Azaan starts, Hanuman Chalisa will be recited through the loudspeaker.

We are not trying to disturb the harmony in society through this. Earlier, Vedic recitations and Pooja offerings, Hanuman Chalisa used to be recited in the morning at the temples of Varanasi. But due to the pressure from the Government, it is all closed now. The loudspeakers on the temple were removed, citing noise pollution. However, the loudspeakers on the mosque have not been removed yet. Azaan starts at 4.30 a.m. As soon as the sound of Azaan starts, we are reciting Vedic mantras and Hanuman Chalisa through the temple’s loudspeaker.

We had repeatedly objected to the voice of Azaan. We have complained that the sound of the loudspeaker should be lowered so that we would not be disturbed. (Even if the administration remains inactive after  complaining and if the people start responding on their own, then how is it wrong ? – Editor)
