Ottawa (Canada) – An attempt was made recently in Canada to glorify the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. After a video about this came to light, India took a strict stand and demanded action against those celebrating the assassination of Indira Gandhi. On the occasion of 40 years of ‘Operation Bluestar’, supporters of Khalistan took out a procession in Brampton, Canada. It displayed a statue of Indira Gandhi wounded with bullets and her Sikh bodyguards standing by the side. Canada’s High Commissioner to India, Cameron MacKay, also said that this kind of endorsement of violence was completely unacceptable and Canada would never accept it.
