Washington (USA) – Jack Dorsey, Twitter Co-Founder, has made accusations against the Indian Government during a YouTube interview and podcast. As part of the protest against the Farm Bills in India, Dorsey, who is anti-Hindu and communist, said the Indian Government had pressured Twitter. The Government had repeatedly asked us to shut down some Twitter accounts with some journalists writing against them. Dorsey said, “It manifested in ways such as: ‘We will shut Twitter down in India,’ which is a very large market for us; ‘We will raid the homes of your employees,’ which they did; ‘We will shut down your offices if you don’t follow suit.’ And this is India, a democratic country,” he continued. Similar claims have been made against the Turkish Government by Jack Dorsey.

Yuva Congress National President Srinivas BV, however, criticised the Government.

The Union Government vehemently denied the allegations and accused Twitter of violating the law. In a Twitter post on 13th June, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, India’s deputy minister for information technology, called Dorsey’s claims an “outright lie” and suggested it was an attempt to “brush out” a “very dubious period of Twitter’s history.” “No one went to jail nor was Twitter ‘shut down’. Dorsey’s Twitter regime had a problem accepting the sovereignty of Indian law. It behaved as if the laws of India did not apply to it.”

Editorial viewpoints

• Now it is clear that anti-Hindus like Jack Dorsey was behind the blocking of pro-Hindu Twitter accounts. Such claims by an anti-Hindu Dorsey are not surprising.

• The opposition to the Farm Bills was driven by Khalistani terrorists and jihadi forces. The Union Government should tell Dorsey that action should be taken against the journalists who were trying to encourage such separatist forces.
