New Delhi – The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has ordered internet service providers to block 67 pornographic websites (obscene films). Due to violations of the Information Technology Rules, 2021, two High Courts in the Country have ordered this action. Four letters have been sent to internet service providers ordering action against 67 websites.

In 2015, the Government took temporary action against 88 porn websites in a similar way. This was challenged in the Supreme Court. Later, the Government lifted the ban and only banned child porn websites.
