Police nab car thief Anil Chauhan; accused of involvement in theft of over 5,000 vehicles !

The biggest car thief Anil Chauhan

New Delhi – Delhi Police arrested Anil Chauhan, the biggest car thief in the country on the 5th of September 2022. He has been accused of stealing over 5,000 four-wheeler vehicles from all over the country. In the last 27 years, he has even killed many taxi drivers. As per the information released by the police, 52 -year -old Anil has purchased many properties in different parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, and North-East India. He has 3 wives and 7 children.

1. In the action taken by the officers on special duty of the Central Delhi Police, 6 pistols, and 7 bullets were confiscated from him.

2. Anil, who used to stay in the Khanpur area of Delhi, was a rickshaw driver. In 1995, he started stealing four-wheeler vehicles. In 27 years, he stole 800 vehicles manufactured by Maruti Company alone.

3. He used to go to different parts of the country to steal vehicles and sell them in Nepal, Jammu-Kashmir, and the North-Eastern States.

4. He also worked as a Government contractor in Assam and used to be in contact with the local leaders.

5. He has been arrested many times by the Police. In 2015, he was arrested with a Congress MLA and underwent 5 years imprisonment. He was released in 2020. There are nearly 180 cases registered against him.

Allegations of providing weapons to the banned organisations !

Anil Chauhan is also involved in the smuggling of weapons according to the Police. He is accused of supplying weapons from Uttar Pradesh to some banned organisations in North-East India. Enforcement Directorate (ED) had registered a case against him for money laundering.

  • Why was a hardened criminal like him released ? Will it be wrong to demand investigations on whether he committed so many murders and thefts with the connivance of Police ? 
  • Such a criminal should be hanged. Crimes continue in this country because no action is taken against such criminals. People have started feeling that committing minor crimes is hardly any crime. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that all party rulers are responsible for such a state of affairs which is very unfortunate for this country !
