An uprising against Taliban rule in Afghanistan : Insurgents take control of 3 Districts

Kabul (Afghanistan) – An armed revolt has been launched against the Taliban rule in Afghanistan. The National Resistance Front (NRF), a group of insurgents led by Ahmad Massoud have separated from the Taliban. The NRF claims to have fought the Taliban and liberated three important Districts in the Panjshir Valley. The Taliban have asked for time to surrender the enemy has suffered heavy casualties claimed the offensive.

1. The Taliban have now launched helicopter attacks in the valley to counter the insurgency. Insurgents led by Masood have claimed to have killed 20 Taliban.

2. The Taliban said no such incident had taken place in Panjshir, but the people of Panjshir refuted the Taliban’s claims and said that a fierce battle was going on at night.

3. The Taliban took control of Afghanistan on 15th August last year. The revolt is the first uprising against them since then.
