Girls who wear indecent clothes in public look like Shurpanakha : BJP’s National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya

Indore (MP) – ‘When I go out in public and see educated young boys and girls dancing in an intoxicated state, I feel like slapping them. This will sober them up. Girls wear extremely indecent clothes in public. We see women as a form goddesses, but these girls do not look like a goddess. They look like Shurpanakha. God has given them a nice body. Wear proper clothes. Teach your children sanskaras. I feel worried’, said Kailash Vijayvargiya, National General Secretary of the BJP. He was speaking at an event here. A video of his statements is going viral on social media.

1. Criticising Vijayvargiya’s comments, Piyush Babele, Media advisor of the Congress party said, ‘Now BJP will also decide what women should wear’.

2. In light of growing criticism, Vijayvargiya gave an explanation for his comments. He said, ‘My comments were distorted. I saw a girl on the road who was wearing tight clothes and creating a scene in an intoxicated state. What to call her if not Shurpanakha ? Women have a right to wear what they want, but what I saw does not suit Indore’s culture. This issue has concerned the entire city’.
