New Delhi – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the ruling party in India, is the most important foreign political party for the USA’s national interest. It cannot be underestimated. After the victory in 2014 and 2019, it is heading for its next victory in 2024’s Indian General Elections, as per a piece written by Walter Russell Mead, in the ‘Wall Street Journal’. He also wrote that the USA’s attempts to curb rising Chinese power will fall short without India’s help.

The author Mead stated that,

The Hindutva policy is clearly seen in the election strategy of the BJP. Like the Chinese Communist Party, the BJP hopes to lead a nation with more than a billion population, towards becoming a global superpower.

Several people fear the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). RSS has close ties with the BJP leadership. In recent years though, the BJP has achieved remarkable electoral success in North-East India’s Christian dominant states. The RSS volunteers have played a significant role in the efforts to fight casteism in India.

Shia Muslims from the State of Uttar Pradesh, which has close to 20 crore population, strongly support the ruling BJP Government.
