230 Chinese Apps banned by the Centre

New Delhi – Centre has issued an order and banned 230 Chinese Apps. 138 among them are related to gambling and 94 provided loans.

1. The government investigated about 288 Chinese Apps and found that these Apps were stealing the personal data of Indians. Thereafter, the Government decided to ban 230 Apps. The ban has been as per Section 69 of the Information Technology Act.

2. The Apps lured vulnerable people with loans at a low-interest rate; but charged high-interest rates for the repayment of the loan. People were harassed when collecting the repayments. As a result, some people committed suicide in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
