Kochi (Kerala) – A Muslim man identified as Farooq attacked a Hindu girl named Sandhya with a sharp weapon and tried to behead her in Kochi on 3^rd December. Sandhya hails from Bengal and came to Kochi in search of work. Police has registered a case in this matter and started searching for Farooq. The victim is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

1. According to media reports, the victim works in a beauty parlour. When the incident took place, the victim was walking with an acquaintance on Azad Road in Kalur area.

2. At that time, Farooq, who was on a two-wheeler, attacked Sandhya with a knife. He wanted to behead Sandhya, but a third person present at the scene intervened.

3. After this attack, Farooq fled on a bike. He left the knife used in the attack at the scene.

4. Locals admitted the injured Sandhya to a nearby hospital. According to Police, Farooq and Sandhya had a relationship in past. There was a rift in the relationship between these two.

5. Farooq suspected that Sandhya was having an affair with another man. He is originally from Uttarakhand and works in a hair saloon in Kochi.
