Mumbai – Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was asked what changes he expected in the present Bollywood at an event India Economic Conclave 2022. He said, “I want to change three things in Bollywood. The first thing is that I would change the name to ‘Hindi Film world’ from ‘Bollywood’. Secondly, I would ask for the script given to actors should be in Devnagri instead of in Roman and the third thing that I would ask is only Hindi language should be spoken on the sets of Hindi films.”Nawazuddin praised the South film industry in this programme.
He said that the best thing in the South film industry was everyone talked to each other in his or her mother tongue. They are proud of their language. Everyone right from a film’s director, writer, costume designer, etc. speaks to each other in their own language.
Nawazuddin said further that while shooting for a Hindi film, the director speaks in a different style while his assistants are creating a different scene, and an actor is left alone in all this confusion. A stage-actor, who is not fluent in English, sometimes does not know what the director says on the set.
