Demand for an inquiry from Human Rights organisations

Madrid (Spain) – While fleeing from Morocco in Africa and entering Spain, 18 people got killed and 76 injured in the stampede that followed at the border on 24th June.

The spokesperson of the Morocco Government said that the stampede happened when people started climbing the iron fence. Despite the tight security of border security guards, 133 managed to cross the border. During that time 5 had got killed, while 133 died in hospital. On the other hand, Morocco’s Human Rights organisation has claimed that 27 were killed. People are desperate to try to flee from Morocco to Spain due to poverty and violence. In March 3,500 people from Morocco had tried to enter Spain. Thereafter, around 1,000 had succeeded in this entering Spain.
