To understand Indian thought process, it is necessary to study the Mahabharat : Dr S Jaishankar, MEA

New Delhi – Dr S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs has stated that for India to understand its strategies and goals, and for the world to understand India’s thought process, it is necessary to study the Mahabharat. The Nation that does not honour its past has no future, stated Dr S Jaishankar giving the reference to a chapter in this book. We feel that instead of appeasing the world community, it is necessary to have faith in one’s self-esteem and based on it get connected to the world. Minister for External Affairs opined on the background of the increasing pressure from the Western countries to oppose the Russian attack on Ukraine. While supporting India’s foreign policy, Dr Jaishankar expressed his opinions in the Raisina Dialogue.

Dr Jaishankar further said,

  • India needs to brush aside the concept of needing the assurance of other Nations while acting on a certain issue.
  • We are sure about who we are. Instead of appeasing the world that exists the way it is, we need to communicate with the world based on ‘Who we are.’
  • While speaking about India’s journey of 75 years and its next approach, Jaishankar said, we need to establish a place in the world.
  • We need to show the world that they are going to benefit from the development of India.
