Tumkuru (Karnataka) – Shri Shri Shri Balmanjunath Mahaswamiji of Vidya Chowdeshwari Peeth in Hangarahalli, Kunigal Taluka (Tumkuru district) said, “Swamijis like us should not fight for reservation for a particular community but should fight for Dharma.” He expressed his opinion on the backdrop of ongoing protests by various communities for reservations. He made it clear, “after I took Sanyasa I am fighting for Dharma and not for reservation.”

I am ready to sacrifice myself for the Dharma !

Shri Shri Shri Balmanjunath Mahaswamiji added, “nation, language and culture should take precedence and not reservation for a particular community. I am originally a Vokkaliga. But after taking sanyasa I am fighting for Dharma and not for reservation. Dharma is above everything. I am ready to sacrifice myself for Dharma; and so I will not fight just for reservation. I would not say that the Swamis of the various communities who are fighting for reservation for the respective communities are wrong, that is their personal opinion. I am fighting for Dharma that is my personal right.”

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Wodeyar from the of the Mysore dynasty said that “it was necessary to provide reservation earlier. Today the government is doing what it thinks is appropriate. The government is there to solve the problems of the people. So the government would take decision in this regard”.
