Petition seeking ban on Sanatan Sanstha withdrawn !

Mumbai – The long-running public interest litigation filed in 2011 to have Sanatan Sanstha declared a “terrorist organization” and banned has finally been withdrawn by the petitioner. After 14 years of hearings, the petitioners failed to present a single piece of evidence linking the organization to terrorism. The Bombay High Court, in stern words, told the petitioner: “There is no basis to continue. Will you withdraw the petition, or shall we dismiss it?” The petitioner then unconditionally withdrew the case.
“This is not only a victory for Sanatan Sanstha, but a triumph of truth, justice, and righteousness. Our faith in the judiciary stands reaffirmed today. We express gratitude to the Almighty, the Goddess of Justice, our revered Guru (Sachchidananda Parabrahma Dr. Athavale), and the legal team that stood with us,” said Sanatan spokesperson Shri. Abhay Vartak after the verdict.
Representing the Sanstha were Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad President Adv. Virendra Ichalkaranjikar, Secretary Adv. Sanjiv Punalekar, and senior advocates Subhash Jha, Aloukik Pai, and Vasant Bansode.
False allegations quashed by the Court !

“For over a decade and a half, the ecosystem of the Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party, and leftist ideologues tried to brand Sanatan Sanstha as part of a fabricated narrative of ‘saffron terror.’ From 2008 to 2025, the organization suffered immense harm and thousands of innocent seekers endured severe mental agony. Who will compensate for this?” Shri. Vartak asked.
“Throughout this period, Sanatan Sanstha cooperated fully with every investigative agency, relying on the Indian judiciary and maintaining restraint. This was an attempt to replay history; just as false charges were once used to impose a ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. But the Goddess of Justice has struck down this conspiracy,” he added.
The demand to ban the Sanstha began in 2008 with the Nationalist Congress Party, followed by Congress leaders popularizing the term ‘Hindu Terrorism’. Yet every time, Sanatan was acquitted.
In the 2008 Gadkari Rangayatan blast, the Sanstha was initially implicated but later cleared of all charges.
In the 2009 Madgaon blast in Goa, the Congress government again attempted to link the Sanstha, but in 2013 the Special Sessions Court exonerated it and rebuked investigators. In the 2013 Dr. Dabholkar murder case, similar efforts to frame the Sanstha also failed. “These cases were all part of a grand plan to prove so-called ‘Hindu terrorism’ and destroy Sanatan Sanstha,” Shri. Vartak stated.
“Divine work cannot be stopped”
“Those who tried to destroy an organisation engaged in divine work have been answered by time – by God Himself. Even during these difficult years, Sanatan Sanstha’s work for the nation, dharma, and society has only grown. We recently celebrated our silver jubilee. While the court has cleared us, the struggle against forces opposed to Sanatan Dharma is not over. Hindus must unite to continue this fight,” Shri. Vartak concluded.
