Islamabad – The land of a 100-year-old Shiva temple near Tando Jam city in Pakistan’s Sindh province has been encroached upon. Not only that, construction activity has also started around it. ‘Darbar Ittehad Pakistan’, an organization representing the Hindu community, recently appealed to the government to stop this illegal construction. (This appeal will be thrown into the dustbin is something that doesn’t even need to be said ! – Editor)

1. The head of the organization, Shiva Kachhi, released a video on social media stating that those who have encroached upon the land of the Hindu temple have begun illegal construction around the temple and have blocked the roads and entrances leading to the Shiva temple.

2. Kachhi said that, considering the historical significance of the temple, a team from the Sindh Heritage Department had renovated the temple last year. He added that there are many historic Hindu temples in Sindh, and it is the government’s duty to ensure their protection.

3. He further stated that there is also a Hindu cremation ground near the temple, where annual religious ceremonies are held. Land mafias have now taken control of the lands surrounding the temple.
