Pakistan will use the money given by the IMF to fund terrorism

Opinion of former UN Assistant Secretary-General Lakshmi Puri

New Delhi – “The world needs to understand that funding Pakistan is not supporting peace. It is subsidising terrorism. Pakistan will not use these funds for reforms or development. Instead, it will use them to bankroll terror networks, shield global fugitives, and prop up a military that thrives on instability,” said Lakshmi Puri, former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Lakshmi Puri further stated,

1.Pakistan has defaulted on democracy, violated every IMF programme condition, and used bailouts to underwrite bloodshed. Yet why doesthe world continue to fund this terrorist nation?

2.Pakistan has borrowed from the IMF 28 times since joining in 1950. That is not financial aid — it is geopolitical charity and a strategic abuse of international goodwill. During the recent meeting to approve a new loan of 1.3 billion Dollars to Pakistan under the loan program, India abstained from voting. In that meeting, the loan was approved.

Editorial Perspective

What is surprising about this ? Pakistan has always done this, so there is no reason to expect anything different now. However, India must now also take note of the IMF’s mindset.
