Hyderabad – Karachi Bakery branch in Shamshabad has been vandalised, although no one was injured. BJP workers demanded change of name for the shop, and are being blamed for this vandalisation. According to Police information, this incident took place during protest last week. The protestors had put a national flag on the Banjara Hills branch of the bakery.
1.Though the name of the bakery is Pakistani city, Karachi, it is run by an Indian family. The owner of the bakery is a descendant of those who came to Hyderabad at the time of partition.
2.The bakery was established in the year 1953 at Mojmajahi market. Karachi bakery has branches in Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and several other cities.In Hyderabad itself this bakery has 24 branches.
3.The manager of the bakery said, “we are Indians and cannot be accused of being Pakistani.”
4.Earlier in 2019, the owners Rajesh and Harish Ramnani had requested the Telangana Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy for providing protection to the bakery. The bakery was also vandalised after Pulwama attack in 2019.
