India warned of fines and imprisonment if X did not close the accounts
New Delhi – Social media platform X has closed more than 8,000 accounts in India at the request of the Indian Government. The Government had requested this as these accounts were violating Indian laws. ‘If the Indian government’s order is not followed, X may face heavy fines and imprisonment,’ India had warned. After that, X closed these accounts, saying, ‘We are following the Government’s order to prevent our website from being closed in India.’
