Washington – Thirteen Hindu organizations based in the United States have jointly demanded that Pakistan be held accountable for its alleged support of the Islamic terrorists responsible for the recent attack in Pahalgam, India. Peaceful protests were held in several U.S. cities by Hindu organizations in response to the recent violence in Pahalgam, India. The demonstrators expressed deep concern over what they described as a recurring trend of religiously targeted attacks against the Hindu community in Kashmir. Previous incidents of targeted religious violence included the genocide of an estimated 4,00,000 Kashmiri Hindus in 1990, the Amarnath massacre in 2000 (32 killed), and the Qasimnagar massacre in 2002 (29 killed).
Hindus held a protest with lit candles. The protesters also held placards saying, ‘Justice for Pahalgam’, ‘Stop Pakistan-sponsored Islamic terrorism’ and ‘Stop killing of Hindus’.
