Incident in Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh)
Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) – Following the recent attack in Pahalgam, protests have erupted across the country, with some individuals placing Pakistan’s national flag on roads as a form of demonstration. In the Gangoh area of Saharanpur, a controversy arose after a student attempted to remove one such flag from the road.A video of the student’s action went viral, sparking mixed reactions. While some praised the act, certain local groups labelled the student’s behaviour as “anti-national” and reportedly pressured the college administration to act. To avoid further controversy, the college decided to expel the student. This incident has sparked public debate, with many questioning whether the response was justified, and whether expelling a student for such an act upholds the principles of free expression and national integrity.
