Davanagere (Karnataka) – A murderous attack was carried out on two Hindu women by a mob of Muslims in front of Jamia Masjid in Tavarekere, a town in this district. In this case, the Police have arrested six Muslims.

Dr Archana Mujumdar, a member of the Women’s Commission, visited the village for investigation into this inhuman attack on Hindu women. She met the victims and offered them solace before departing.

At that time, Muslim women blocked her vehicle and held a short protest demanding the release of the arrested Muslim accused. (Muslim women using mob pressure tactics to influence the Police – Editor)

A few days ago, two Hindu women were attacked and injured in front of Jamia Masjid in Tavarekere by members of the Muslim community. A video of this incident went viral on social media. The National Commission for Women took suo motu cognisance of the matter and filed a complaint. Subsequently, Dr Archana Mujumdar reached Tavarekere for investigation.
