Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir responsible for Pahalgam attack : Former US Defence Official Michael Rubin

Washington DC (USA) – The terrorist attack in Pahalgam has sparked outrage not only in India but across the world. Michael Rubin, a former official at the US Department of Defence (Pentagon), directly held Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir responsible for the attack, pointing to his earlier speech as incitement. In his speech, Asim Munir had declared ‘Our stance on Kashmir is absolutely clear. It was, is, and will remain our jugular vein. We will not forget it. We will never abandon our Kashmiri brethren in their struggle’. Referring to this, Michael Rubin said, ‘This attack makes it clear that India must decapitate Pakistan. There should be no doubt or hesitation about this’.

Rubin further added, ‘We know that Pakistan is a hub for multiple terrorist groups including Lashkar-e-Taiba. The Pahalgam attack is similar to Hamas’s attack on Israel on 7thOctober 2023. That was an attack on Jews. Now, by targeting middle-class Hindus in Pahalgam, Pakistan is adopting the same strategy. In such a situation, India must do to Pakistan what Israel did to Hamas. It is India’s duty’.
