Rope Way to be built in Kedarnath

9-hour journey will be completed in just 36 minutes

(Ropeway means a system for transporting passengers or goods in carriers suspended from ropes.)

New Delhi – The Union Cabinet has approved the ‘Ropeway project for Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand. Another project, the construction of a rope way in Hemkund Sahib, has also been approved. ₹2,730 crore will be spent on the project in Hemkund Sahib. A 12.9-km rope way will be built from Sonprayag to Kedarnath, on which ₹4,81 crore will be spent. It will be built by the National Highways Administration. The biggest benefit of this is that the journey, which currently takes 8-9 hours, will be completed in 36 minutes. The rope way will have a capacity to seat 36 people at a time, informed Union Minister Shri. Ashwini Vaishnav.
