Theft in Maharashtra by a Godhra-massacre Convict on Parole

Alephata (Dist Pune) – Salim aka Salman Zarda, the main convict in the widely-discussed  Godhra train carnage case and who is undergoing life imprisonment, jumped parole. During this period, he went to Maharashtra and committed theft. He also stole tyres from a tempo parked near a petrol pump on Nagar – Kalyan highway at night with the help of  four aides. Alephata Police conducted investigations into this case and arrested Sahil Pathan, Sufiyan Chanaki, Ayub Sunthiya and Irfan Durvesh along with the main convict of Godhra massacre.  He has admitted to committing crimes. The crimes were committed in the jurisdiction of Manchar Police station in Pune district and Sinnar Police station in Nashik district and during the probe, it has been revealed that there are 16 crimes registered against him, 3 in Maharashtra and 13 in Gujarat.

Stolen goods worth Rs 14,40,878 have been seized from the gang along with the goods stolen from the tempo. Salman Jarda is the main convict in the Godhra massacre case and undergoing life imprisonment. It has been observed that while on parole, he has committed thefts by forming gangs and has jumped parole eight times in the past.
