1,500 ‘Ganga Sevadoots’ to maintain cleanliness during Kumbha Mela

Prayagraj – It is estimated that more than 40 crore people including Sadhus, Saints and devotees will attend the Maha Kumbha. At present, crores of devotees have come to the Kumbha area. Due to this, garbage like paper plates, food wrappers etc. is getting collected in large amounts. To maintain cleanliness, 1,500 ‘Ganga Sevadoots’ have been appointed by the Prayagraj Authority.

‘Ganga Sevadoot’ are seen cleaning the pavilions of the akhadas, roads, banks of the Ganga river, temples etc. throughout the day. To maintain cleanliness in the Maha Kumbha and Prayagraj areas, a meeting was held by the administration with 400 schoolteachers and principals of colleges in Prayagraj. The students were told about the importance of cleanliness. Also, 1.5 lakh toilets, 5,000 urinals, 350 public toilets have been built in the entire Kumbha area to maintain cleanliness.
